The Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales has produced “We Dare to Ask”, a set of five study sessions inspired by the promises of Baptism Catholics renew every Easter at the Vigil or Easter Sunday liturgy. “From St John XXIII to Pope Leo, recent Popes have referred to their baptism as the most important day in their lives,” said Abbot Hugh Allan, O Praem, director of mission for the Bishops’ Conference. “They have sought to remind each of us to remember the day of our baptism, the start of our earthly pilgrimage to our heavenly Father,” he added. |

“We Dare to Ask” covers topics ranging from our creation in God’s image, the mercy of Jesus and anointing by the Holy Spirit, explored through prayers, passages of Scripture, reflections, questions and sacred art. It also deploys Visio Divina, a technique of reflecting on sacred images aided by questions. Written by the Baptism Collaborative, a group of catechists and religious, from across England and Wales united by a passion for the Sacrament of Baptism, “We Dare to Ask” has been produced by the Agency for Evangelisation and Catetchesis of the Archdiocese of Southwark, whose spirituality commission is also providing free Lent reflections and prayers via email on request. |
